Australian Wood Ducks, also known as maned ducks
When: Spring to early Autumn. We don't often see these guys around here but when we do turn up they seem to like the creek at the back of the local Currimundi Primary School.
Unlike the Pacific Black ducks that we see more often, these ducks happily wander around feeding in the grassy areas beside the creek and even onto the school oval. Their little ducklings traipsing along behind.
